How can I make money using Social Networking Sites?

Over the past few years Social Networking has grown to be one of the most used media on the Internet. With millions of people linking together in Social Network mediums such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Linked-In and countless others it is only wise to think of using these mediums for marketing a service or product.

MySpace and Facebook are both great examples of targeting the perfect audience for your banner advertisements. Their advertising modules are easy to use and provide a terrific cost analysis for a banner ad publisher to set budgets for each campaign and drill down to the exact audience the product is tailored towards. Using a sale to click ratio statistic, a performance-based CPA network affiliate can choose ads they want to run, drill down to the specific audience they want to see the ads, set a daily budget or, in some cases, a total run time budget and upload the banner for the advertising campaign.

One of the real skills of this social network marketing is the budget!

If you run a campaign on MySpace, for example, you can choose how much money you want to spend on a daily basis. If you choose a campaign that is paying out a CPA of $30.00 and you set your daily marketing budget at $90.00 you need to make sure your daily sales for that campaign is 4 or more sales to make profit; if targeted correctly you should hope to make 8 or more sales per day. Now if you are running 4 or 5 banner campaigns simultaneously, your earning potential can be tremendous.

The other skill of social network marketing is the audience targeting!

Knowing how to budget a CPA banner-ad campaign in social network marketing goes hand-in-hand with knowing how to target your audience. It would be useless to market a diet-aid marketing campaign in an audience geared for music. Look through the available advertising campaigns carefully, choosing 2 to 3 campaigns from several categories that have maximum targeting abilities in the social network campaign setup system and place them in the target that will provide the maximum amount of interest from the audience chosen.

You may not have great results at first, unless you are experienced at this marketing channel. If you are new to this type of advertising, choose campaigns with the highest payout and start by choosing the lowest daily advertising budget you can set based on your target audience and see what the rate of return is. If you hit a home run on the first try, increase the daily marketing budget, however, if your return does not meet expectation, try re-targeting the audience for the campaign; don’t just kill the campaign and try a new one!

Last but not least, keep an eye on your marketing efforts daily! Check your sales reports from the affiliate network and check your performance stats on the social network sites you are advertising. You will soon see that social network advertising can yield much greater results than search marketing.
